How do I order Gift Cards and eGift Cards?
You can place your order online using the order form which can be located under the Gift Card Order Form page.
Can I get a discount for a Bulk Purchase?
Discounts for bulk purchases are available. Below is the qualifying discount structure:
- £1,000 to £19,999 -2.5% discount
- £20,000 to £49,999 -4% discount
- £50,000 and above –5% discount

Can I pay for my Gift Card order with a credit or debit card?
Unfortunately, we are unable to take credit or debit card payments for bulk orders. BACS, CHAPS or FASTER payments are accepted.
Orders will be despatched within 2 days following receipt of payment.
When you have completed an order form, the payment details will be provided in the confirmation email.
When will my order arrive?
Once we have received payment for your order we will despatch your products as below:
- Gift Cards –within 2 working days.
- eGift Cards –within 2 working days.
eGift Cards will be delivered in a secure email, with an attached password protected file. The password to this will be sent via text message to the phone number entered in the order form.
What’s the expiry date on Gift Cards and Vouchers?
There is a 24-month expiry date on all Gift Cards.
The expiry date is set when the Gift Cards are activated. For eGift Cards, the expiry date is printed on the PDF.
You can also find out your expiry date by calling customer services on 0800 63 62 62.
Gift vouchers and Food Tokens also have an expiry date which is clearly printed on the reverse of the Voucher.
Can you top up Gift Cards instore?
B2B gift cards and eGift Cards cannot be topped up in-store.
Is change given in business to business Gift Cards or Vouchers?
We cannot give change at the checkout and Gift Cards or Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
How do card holders know how much money is left on the card?
Once you have purchased something with your Gift Card or eGift Card you will be given a till receipt and a Gift Card statement which will show your opening and closing balance.
You can also hand over your GiftCard or eGift Card to a cashier at the till or at the customer service desk and they will swipe it for you to find out the balance.
Alternatively, you can scan the QR code on the back of the Gift Card to receive an instant balance.

Can I use Gift Cards or Vouchers to buy groceries online at Sainsburys.co.uk?
If you have a physical Gift Card, unfortunately these cannot be redeemed online. We are working on it and are hoping to have this available soon.
If you have a digital eGift card you will be able to use this online at www.sainsburys.co.uk, the maximum redemption per transaction is £50.
Do I get Nectar points when I redeem my Gift Cards or Vouchers?
Yes, all Vouchers, Gift Cards and eGift Cards redeemed earn Nectar points in-store on relevant products.
What can I buy with the Gift Cards and Vouchers?
Sainsbury’s Gift Cards, Vouchers and eGift Cards can be used to purchase most products in stores. As part of our terms and conditions, the following products and categories cannot be purchased with a Sainsbury’s Gift Card, voucher or eGift Card;
- Branded Gift Cards
- Scratch Cards
- LPG AUTOGAS
- Pay Point product and services
- Prescription products
- Infant Formula
- Tobacco and related products
- BT phone cards
- E TOP-UP Savings stamps
- Postage Stamps
- National Lottery products
- Car park tickets
- Online delivery charges
- Concession coffee shops, restaurants or vending machine purchases
- Petrol or products within petrol stations (apart from when using a petrol card).
Food Tokens have the additional exclusion of alcoholic beverage products.
Can I use my Gift Cards or Vouchers for purchases in petrol stations?
From 16th October 2012 you will no longer be able to use your Gift Card and Vouchers in petrol stations.
Can the Gift Cards or Vouchers be used in concessions?
Our concessions cannot accept our Gift Cards or Vouchers, but all Sainsbury’s coffee shops do accept them.
Can I use my Gift Cards or Gift Vouchers in Sainsbury’s Local in partnership with Euro Garages?
We cannot accept Gift Cards or Gift Vouchers at Sainsbury’s Local in partnership with Euro Garages.
Can I use my Sainsbury’s Gift Cards or Gift Vouchers in Argos?
We cannot currently accept Sainsbury’s Gift Cards and vouchers in Argos stores and cannot accept Argos Gift Cards and vouchers in Sainsbury’s stores.
Can I transfer my Gift Voucher or gift card balance onto a Gift Card instore?
No, you are unable to transfer from a voucher or B2B Gift Card to a store Gift Card.
How can I check my account with you – I need to see what invoices I have paid?
